On sunday 24 july 2011 te wairua tapu held its annual memorial service which gives the opportunity for those who have had loved pass away, to grieve. As Archdeacon Kaio Karipa said during the prayers, this is your service and now is the time for you to come up and light a candle in memory of your loved ones. You are also welcome to say a few words.

It's a very moving service but one in which those that attended, did indeed get up and say a few words whilst lighting a candle in memory of their loved ones.
